Cloth Books

One of the best gifts for children and their parents are books. Cloth books are a perfect gift for babies as early as 6 months old. Why cloth books are a must in your baby's life:


1. Cloth books are very colorful, will help your baby to distinguish different colors and contrasts.

2. Different material textures in the book will help your baby to feel and taste (of course) the difference.

3. Majority of books will have pages with different squeakie and crinkle sounds and will draw baby's attention to press the bottom and figure out where the sound is coming from.

4. Some pages are interactive, for instance, a rabbit is hiding behind the grass or a bee is sitting inside the flower. Show your baby how to find them. Interactive reading helps your baby to improve her eye-hand coordination and problem solving skills.

5. I love cloth books that have no words, just images. It is a great way for parents to come up with their own stories especially if the household is multilingual. Mom and dad can tell a story in Spanish and grandparents will have a new story in English.

6. It is never early to teach your child about the benefit that comes from reading books. Soon your baby will imitate your every move and if she sees you reading a book, he will grab a book herself!

FYI: I read to my daughter almost every day since the day she was born. She gets tired after 10 minutes, but I have her full attention for those ten minutes. She likes to turn pages, look through illustrations, chew on the edges and of course keep giving the book to me and taking it back.
