Minerals your baby needs

Vitamin E and C

Your baby needs the best of the best! I believe in fresh, home-made meals for your whole family. I believe your baby must eat: fruits, vegetables, meats, fish and bread.

1. Calcium helps with develop stronger bones, teeth, nerves and muscles. Drink milk, eat cheese, butter and yogurt.
2. Iron is good for red blood cells, muscle function, white blood cells and your baby's immune system. Great source of iron is lean red meat, fish, egg yolks, nuts, wholewheat and green leafy vegetables.
3. Magnesium if good for converting energy from foods, cell repair, building strong bones, teeth and muscles. Magnesium also helps to regulate body temperature. Magnesium can be found in: wholegrains, nuts and green leafy vegetables.
4. Zinc helps your immune system as well as breaks down protein and carbs. Shellfish, meat, brown rice and wholegrains are great source of zinc.
5. Selenium helps to keep baby's liver healthy. Food such as eggs, milk, cheese, chicken, wholewheat bread, salmon, lean meat, sunflower seeds, cashew nuts and green vegetables contain selenium.
6. Potassium helps to regulate water levels in our bodies. Potassium is also important in heart and muscle function. Most fruits and vegetables contain potassium: strawberries, bananas, oranges (fresh) prunes, potatoes and of course green leafy vegetables.

Please remember to consult your pediatrician before introducing any new foods to your baby especially if she already has any kind of food allergies.
