My registry check list: Nursery

Here is the standard baby registry checklist that majority of baby stores will give you. Baby stores want you to buy as much as you possibly can. Those registry checklists are created for people to shop and not necessarily use after the baby is born. I believe less is more when it comes to baby stuff. Please see my comments on each item. I highlighted things that are most useful and are registry must haves!

Nursery 

· 1 crib – Yes, you definitely need a crib. 

· 1 crib mattress – I recommend getting a really good one, do not save $ on a mattress. 

· 2 crib mattress pad – Do not really need one, but you can get one if you do not like the texture of your mattress. Majority of mattresses are water proof, so no need to get a waterproof pad and you also will need only 1 pad. 

· 1 changing table or dresser – You can use a table as your changing table if you are on a budget, but if you have space and money you should get a changing table. 

· 1 changing pad – Must have 

· 2 changing pad cover – Yes and 2 of them are more than enough. 

· 1 glider – You need a comfortable seating, it does not have to be a glider or a rocker, just a comfortable arm chair or a sofa. 

· 1 bassinet or moses basket – no need. You baby will be in the crib all the time. 

· 1 blankets - receiving – No, you can use swaddle blankets.

· 3 blankets - swaddle – you will need around 6 swaddling blankets

· 2 sleep sack swaddle – You will not use them, at least I did not.

· 1 sleep sack wearable – No need. Your baby will sleep in one piece bodysuits. 

· 1 blanket – I would suggest getting 2 blankets, a really warm one and a lightweight one. 

· 2 – 4 fitted crib sheet – you will need only 2 

· 1 crib mobile – Yes, I think you need one. I would recommend the one that plays music. 

· 2 – 4 storage bin – you will need only 2 bins, for toys storage. 

· 1 hamper – Yes, I would recommend getting the hamper. For the first year you will be doing your baby’s laundry separately. Please note that there is no need to get a baby hamper, just get another laundry basket which might not be as cute but will cost a lot less. I would also suggest getting a changing table with installed hamper which is extremely convenient to use.
· 1 night stands – No, you do not need one.
· 1 crib bedding set - Yes.
· 2 fitted crib sheets - Yes

Total suggested baby pieces for the nursery by the store are: 32

Total amount of pieces you would really use: 25
